I am a Professor of Journalism and Political Science at SIU Carbondale.  I am generally interested in the role of social context and networks in helping us understand political involvement.  More generally, I am interested on political communications, campaigns and election, public opinion and voting behavior, and American politics more generally.

My current projects focused on the different role of men and women in social networks, the impact of social interaction on political information, and the impact of economic inequality on political behavior.

I am available for comment on the subjects of media and politics, elections and voting, and partisan politics in the United States.  I am also available as a consultant for non-profit organizations and Democratic campaigns.
